What's Your Summer Plan?

13...12...11...10...9...

There are thirteen weeks of summer. What do you intend to do with the time? Here's an idea for organizing a plan so the days and weeks don't slip by too fast.

Get a 3-month-at-a-glance calendar, count down the weeks until school starts and write the numbers in next to the weeks. Then, write in the plans that you know are set. After this, take time to plan and write in other activities. Of course, the plan is subject to change, but as you prioritize your summer, you'll accomplish your goals. If you just take it a day at a time, you'll be amazed at how fast the time slips by and you'll be disappointed when you realize you haven't done what you set out to do.

Here's what the plan might look like:

If you work outside the home, it takes some extra planning on your part to be sure your children have a planned schedule. Do they go to daycare? Do they stay at a friend's house? Are your younger children watched by their older sibling? Stay-at-home moms need a plan, too, but have a bit more flexibility since they are with their children. What special summer activities are planned? Ask yourself these questions and take some time to plan out your summer. You'll be glad you did when school starts back up and you're able to say "Yeah! We had a great summer!"
